[Summary yet to be added]

Strelitzia

Five species are native to South Africa.

Strelitzia reginae
Bird of Paradise Flower

No clinical reports of dermatitis from this popular greenhouse plant have been found although McCord (1962) noted a commercial extract of the plant used for patch-testing. The seed hastens the souring of milk (Watt & Breyer-Brandwijk 1962).
